Marc Audet: Web Developer, Principal

My interest in web design stems from my work experience in the biotechnology sector. As a software engineer and project manager, I integrated and customized commercial Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to help companies manage workflow and data within their laboratory facilities. My LIMS experience involved using PL/SQL and web pages to design user interfaces for Oracle databases.

Prior to my industrial experience, I was a research associate in academia, first at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then Oxford University, where I did scientific programming (FORTRAN) and applied mathematical modeling.

My research experience has provided me with a wide range of skills for general problem solving, writing and presentation of data and content, all of which are widely applicable to designing websites both for personal and business needs.

Experience

• Web Design: Seven years experience designing and developing web-based user interfaces and websites for small business and non-profit organizations.
• Industrial: Six years industrial experience in engineering software development, databases, laboratory information management systems.
• Academic: Ten years experience in scientific programming and academic research, including refereed publications and conference presentations.
